A truck driver has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving on the M7 motorway in Laois.

Laois Gardaí stopped the truck on the M7 motorway after “multiple” motorists reported the HGV over its driving

“Laois RPU(Roads Policing Unit) received multiple calls today regarding this HGV on the M7. Different callers. Same concerns. We located the vehicle. We stopped it,” Gardaí said on social media.

They said the driver failed a roadside breath test and court proceedings have commenced.

“When several members of the public feel the need to pick up the phone about your vehicle, it's not because they're admiring the paintwork”, Gardai stated.
