The late Peter Graham
The funeral and burial has taken place of a Laois builder and entrepreneur who built homes across the county.
Peter Graham from Kylebeg, Stradbally died peacefully, on Monday night, February 23, 2026, surrounded by his devoted family.
His death notice described the "respected builder and entrepreneur" in lovely words.
"Peter was well known for his lifelong contribution to construction across County Laois. A man of immense generosity and work ethic, he took great pride in his craft but his greatest devotion was always to his family. When asked how he was, Peter was famously known for his quick wit and his trademark reply: 'Rotten, thank God.'"
Tributes paid described his "infectious laugh and hard work", and recalled him as "a true gentleman".
"Great memories all working together. Lots of work done and lots of laughs also. A favorite word of his "tremendous". Infectious laugh and hard working always. May the light shine bright in his memory and may he rest is peace. Sincere sympathies to you all at this difficult time," said the Graham family from Rosenallis.
Park Ratheniska GAA Club offered their sympathies to the family, as did Sean Fleming TD.
Eamon Sheehan of KWS offered sympathies, remembering Mr Graham as "a nice straight good humoured gentleman who was always a pleasure to meet throughout life".
A Redcastle couple said "an interesting man who was generous with his time, knowledge and wit. One of life's true gentlemen".
A couple from Shanahoe said "so sorry to hear of the passing of Peter a lovely man who we had the pleasure of him building our house. Rest in Peace Peter condolences to all the family".
Peter Graham was predeceased by his beloved wife Marie and his parents Mary and Richard Graham.
He is mourned by his children Stephen, Peadar, Edel, Fergal, Finnbarr and Aisling, his daughters-in-law/children's partners Sinead and Lorraine, his sons-in-law/children's partners Paddy, Darragh and Andrew and his cherished grandchildren Adara, Sophie, Ross, Ronan, Jacob, Cormac, Robert, Emma and Keela. He is also sadly missed by his extended family, brothers and sisters, neighbours and many friends.

The Graham family have expressed their sincere gratitude to the staff and nurses for the care given to Peter during his final days including staff of the Beacon Hospital.
Mr Graham's remains had reposed at his residence in Kylebeg on Wednesday February 25th with removal on Thursday morning to arrive at The Church of The Sacred Heart, Stradbally for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Burial took place afterwards in Oakvale Cemetery.
