The funding will help repair rural local roads.
Almost €500,000 has been allocated to Laois to help repair and maintain rural local roads across the county.
The funding of €469,530 for Laois is part of the government's latest round of money under the Local Improvement Scheme.
The scheme is designed to support the improvement of non-public roads in rural communities, laneways and improve access to rural homes and farms, as well as outdoor amenities such as our lakes, rivers and mountains.
The announcement has been welcomed by Laois TDs Willie Aird (FG) and Sean Fleming (FF).

"I look forward to Laois County Council carrying out these much-needed Local Improvement Scheme works when our weather conditions improve and are more favourable to carry out such work," said Deputy Fleming.
Deputy Aird said he welcomed investment in the everyday infrastructure that keeps rural Ireland moving.
"The LIS has long been a lifeline for communities across the country, ensuring that homes, farms, and small businesses remain accessible through safe, reliable rural roads and laneways. "This targeted funding will make a real difference for families and farmers who depend on these routes every day."
