The Laois GAA Games and Gaels 5k Fun Run took place on Saturday morning from the LOETB Centre of Excellence. The participants went around a 5k loop of Clonminam Industrial Estate before running out by the Portlaoise Plaza and back down the Abbeyleix Road. The run is used as a fundraiser for the Laois GAA Academy squads and this year was the first time that the event was open to the public, as the first year was solely for the Academy squads. A great crowd attended the run on Saturday and photographer Denis Byrne was there to capture some pictures for the Leinster Express/ Laois Live.
