Gardaí arrested a men in Laois and in Limerick over a cross border terror investigation

Two men are due before Portlaoise District Court in relation to a cross border terrorism related investigation this morning.

Gardaí said they had made two further arrests as part of this cross-border terrorism-related investigation this morning.

Two men, both aged in their 30s, who were arrested in Limerick and Portlaoise, this morning have been charged.

They are due to appear before Portlaoise District Court this morning at 10.30am.

Two other males currently before the courts, will be further charged in connection with this investigation, also before Portlaoise District Court this morning at 10.30am.

The investigation continues to be led by An Garda Síochána Special Detective Unit.

Gardaí said no further information is available at this time.
