Locals in a Laois village have been advised to prepare for potential water and electricity outages next week.

Uisce Éireann / Irish Water have said that a planned power outage for Durrow may cause water supply disruptions.

Works are expected to take place on Derry Road from 9am to 5pm on Tuesday March 31, and in Durrow's village centre on Wednesday April 1.

These works may affect surrounding areas, and it may take three to four hours after the estimated restoration time for water supplies to return.
