A man was ordered to stay out of Portlaoise except to attend the maternity clinic.

Ross O’Keeffe (32) of 8 Oak Drive, Ballincollig, Mountmellick, is accused of being intoxicated in public at Oak Drive and of stealing a bottle of prosecco from Mulhall’s Supervalu, Lyster Square on February 25, 2026.

Solicitor Joesphine Fitzpatrick noted there was a bail condition that the man stay out of Portlaoise but she said his partner, who lives in Mountmellick, is attending the maternity unit in Portlaoise.

Judge Cody said the conditions could include that he stay out of Portlaoise except for maternity unit visits.

He adjourned the case back to Portlaoise District Court on March 2 for a plea or a date for hearing.
