Patrick Grehan - Rosenallis

The death took place on April 20 of Patrick (Paddy) Grehan, Cappalane, Rosenallis, Laois.

Died peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Midlands Regional Hospital Tulamore.

Predecased by his parents Joseph and Julia and his brothers and sisters.

Sadly missed by his loving wife Mary-Jo, his sons Joe and Richard and his daughter Cathriona, his loving grand children Alan, Kate, David, Aoife, Ciara, Sarah, Oisín and Ava, daughters-in-law Niamh and Deirdre, son-in-law Shane, his sisters Carmel Fox and Patricia Curley, nieces , nephews , relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Reposing in Moloney's Funeral Home Mountmellick on Tuesday from 6pm. Recital of the Rosary at 7.30pm.

Funeral arriving to St. Brigid’s Church Rosenallis on Wednesday for Requiem Mass at 12 o’clock. Burial afterwards in St. Brigid’s cemetery.

James Masterson - Mountmellick

The death took place on April 17 of James (Jim/ Shem) Masterson, Swords, Dublin / formerly of Mountmellick, Laois

Former Sergeant, An Garda Síochána).

Died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. Devoted husband of adored Rosaleen, cherished father of Eugene, Barry, Sharon and Aoife, and doting grandfather of Caoimhe, Darragh, Cathal, Róisín, Eóin, Niamh, Donncha, Lorcan and Fergal.

Sadly missed by sons-in-law Seán and Dermot, daughter-in-law Jacinta, brother Seán, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and former work colleagues. Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Margaret and brother Des.

Reposing at Rock's Funeral Home, Swords on Tuesday (April 21st) evening from 4.30 p.m. - 6.30 p.m. Removal on Wednesday (April 22nd) morning to St. Cronan's Church, Brackenstown arriving for 10 a.m. Mass followed by funeral to Glasnevin Cemetery. Linda Mary Anderson - Portlaoise

The death took place on April 17 of Linda Mary Anderson (née Doherty), Derrygarron, Portlaoise, Laois

Linda Mary Anderson, died suddenly after a brief illness surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her parents Michael and Annie Doherty and sister Annette.

Dearly beloved and devoted wife of Ian and cherished mother to daughter Kelly.

She will be wholeheartedly and dearly missed by her sister Sylvia, brother-in-law Joe, her dearly loved nieces and nephews Faye, Emily, Sharon, Rebecca, Georgina, Sophie, Marilyn, Sean, Jason, Carl and Eddie. Brothers Eddie, Pat and Michael, extended family and her close friends, Karen and Annette.

Reposing At Keegan's Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 21st from 6pm until 7:30pm with rosary at 7 pm. Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 11am in SS Peter and Pauls Church Portlaoise followed by interment in SS Peter and Paul cemetery.

Family flowers only donations if desired to the Protection of Animals.

The funeral Mass can be viewed through the Portlaoise Parish Webcam.

Tony Kirwan - Mountmellick

The death took place on April 17 of Tony Kirwan, Lord Edward Street, Mountmellick, Laois / Mountrath, Laois

25th of June 1949 to 17th of April 2026.

Tony passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the care of the wonderful staff at Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise and previously St James Hospital.

Loving husband and best friend to Annette. Father to Marie (Stafford), Alan, Mark & Gary.

Grandfather and legend to Adam, Sean, Isabel, Eric, Alannah, Kayleigh, Charlie, Anthony and Emily.

Predeceased by his parents Maureen and Joe. Siblings Lily (Crawford) and Donal.

Sadly missed by his son-in-law Donal, daughters-in-law Valerie, Debbie and Sarina. Brother Eddie, sisters Sheila and Marian, brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends and neighbours.

Reposed in Moloney’s Funeral Home (R32 PC95) on Sunday from 4pm. Recital of The Rosary at 6.30pm.

Removal from his home on Monday at 10.45am to St. Joseph’s Church Mountmellick for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial followed after in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Phyllis Gavin - Portlaoise

The death took place on April 17 of Phyllis Gavin, Riverside Apartments, Ridge rd. Portlaoise.

Peacefully, in the loving care of the staff of Fennor Nursing home Urlingford.

Daughter of the late William and Mary Gavin. Predeceased by her sisters Carmel Marum and Therese Ramsey. Dearly loved sister to Mary Stokes-Shepherd, Claire McEvoy, John Gavin and Michael Gavin. Deeply regretted by her loving family. Catherine, Julie, Derry, Aisling, Louis and Michael. Nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces. Relatives neighbours and friends.

Reposed at Keegans funeral home on Sunday evening from 4 pm until 6 pm with rosary at 5.30 pm . Removal on Monday morning to arrive at SS Peter and Pauls church for 11 am requiem mass. Private cremation followed afterwards

Teresa Kelly - Durrow

The death has occurred of Teresa Kelly (née O'Keeffe), Hillview House, Derry Road, Durrow and formerly of Portlaoise Road, Abbeyleix, died unexpectedly but peacefully at Brookhaven Nursing Home, Ballyragget.

Beloved wife of her recently deceased husband John. Predeceased by her parents Edward and Maisie and her brothers and sisters. Deeply regretted by her loving sons Ian and Billy, daughters-in-law Denise and Noeline, her adored and cherished grandchildren Leah, Shannon, Lucy, Jack, Robin and Alex, her brothers John and Eddie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, neighbours, relatives and a large circle of friends.

Teresa repose at Ian and Denise's home, Derry Road Durrow, on Thursday 16th April from 3pm with funeral prayers at 7pm. Removal was from their home on Friday morning 17th April, arriving at Holy Trinity Church Durrow(R32CK11) for Requiem Mass at 11am, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Ann Williams - Rathdowney

The death took place on April 7, 2026 of Ann Williams (née Whelan), Burnham on Crouch, Essex, UK and formerly of Harristown, Rathdowney, Laois.

It is with profound sadness Ann's family share the news of her passing which occurred on the 7th of April, 2026 following a long illness, bravely borne. Ann passed away peacefully surrounded by her heartbroken children and under the compassionate care of the staff at Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford. Predeceased by her loving husband Keith and parents Jer and Ann.

Ann will be forever loved and deeply missed by her adoring children Catherine, Morgan, Jennifer and her grandchildren Ripley and Isabella. Also deeply mourned by her loving sisters Mary, Sheila, Susan, Lily, Brigid and Teresa her brothers Donal and Joe and her extended family. Also missed by her wide circle of kind and loyal friends both in Ireland and in the Burnham community.

She will repose at Paul J King Funeral Directors, Burnham-On-Crouch on April 21st. Requiem Mass will be celebrated by her dear friend Fr. Jerold on the 22nd of April at 11am in St. Cuthbert's Church Burnham, followed by cremation at Maldon Fields Crematorium at 12.30pm.
