A book of evidence has been served on a man who is accused of harassing a number of people through Tiktok and Facebook posts.

The man (47) who has a Laois address, but cannot be identified to protect the identities of the alleged victims, is accused of five counts of harassment by issuing threats and making allegations about five people on Tiktok and Facebook between September 2023 and July of 2025.

Garda Lisa  Murray said she served the book of evidence on the accused at a sitting of Portlaoise District Court

Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said the book contained five counts of harassment and the DPP had consented to the accused being sent forward for trial.

Judge Susan Fay issued an alibi warning and made an order sending the case forward to the next sittings of Portlaoise Circuit Court on April 21.

Requesting legal aid, Solicitor Josephine Fitzpatrick said “I would seek two counsel, they are quite serious matters”.
