Portlaoise GAA has been granted planning permission for a new clubhouse and sports hall.
The club applied to Laois County Council for permission to demolish the existing clubhouse and build a new facility last month.
The plans for the new clubhouse and changing rooms at Rathleague in Portlaoise were approved by the council subject to 17 conditions.
Portlaoise GAA sought to “demolish existing clubhouse and to construct a new clubhouse and sports hall. The facilities will include a single story clubhouse with four dressing rooms, toilets, meeting room, sports hall and all associated site works.”
The large site includes provision for 15 bike parking spaces and almost 350 car parking spaces.
