Durrow is the place to go in the run up to the festive season for cake and some perfect Christmas gifts on sale in aid of Durrow Tidy Towns which is also selling tickets for annual raffle.

A Christmas Cake Sale will be held on Sunday, December 11 from 11am to 1pm in the CES office on the Kilkenny Road beside the Church.

There will also be some cute gifts and stocking fillers available on the day which the organisers say will be perfect for the Christmas Season.

This is another important fundraiser for Tidy Towns Projects for 2023.

"Your support is, as always appreciated. We can’t keep Durrow looking beautiful without these fundraising events and would appreciate your support. If you can bake, contribute, or purchase we would be delighted," say Durrow Tidy Towns.

The Tidy Towns is also holding their annual Christmas Fundraising Raffle Supporting Tidy Towns projects in Durrow.

  • First Prize - Luxury Christmas Hamper in Picnic Basket;
  • Second Prize - Luxury Christmas Hamper;
  • Third Prize - Luxury Medium Christmas Hamper;
  • Fourth Prize - Luxury Mini Christmas Hamper.

Tickets are €5 each or three for €10. Tickets are now available in St Canices Credit Union, Kenna Butchers, Durrow Post Office and from committee members and volunteers.

"This is an important fundraiser for next years planting and your support is as always much appreciated," says the committee.

The draw will take place in Durrow Post Office on Friday, December 23 at 4pm and it will also be streamed live on Durrow Tidy Towns Facebook.

Finally, the committee is working with Durrow Development Forum to make the town more environmentally friendly this year. CE schemes are working around the town installing the new LED Christmas street lights.
