Laois County Council County Hall in Portlaoise.
A flooding problem has been ‘destroying’ the property of a Rosenallis resident for ‘years and years’.
So claimed two Laois public representatives at a recent meeting with Laois County Council where they called for action from the local authority.
Cllr Seamus McDonald, Fianna Fáil, tabled a motion calling on the council to resolve the flooding problem at Pat Farrell’s house, Tinweir, Rosenallis.
“It's been going on for years and years,” he said.
Edmond Kenny, District Engineer Council replied that he would arrange to meet the Elected Member at the site to examine the area of concern.
Cllr Paddy Bracken supported his Fianna Fáil party colleague and hoped there could be progress in 2023.
“It’s destroying the boundary wall of the house,” he said.
The issue was raised at a recent meeting of the Borris-in-Ossory Mountmellick Municipal District in County Hall Portlaoise.
