A survey is promised in Mountmellick to see how flooding in Acragar could be tackled.
That was the commitment given to Cllr Paddy Bracken who raised the issue at a recent meeting.
The Fianna Fáil councillor tabled a motion at a recent meeting calling on Laois County Council to address the ongoing flooding problem at Acragar.
Edmond Kenny, District Engineer, replied in writing.
“A level survey will be undertaken on the road to identify a solution to the drainage problems at this location. Maintenance crews will then address the flooding issue,” he said.
Cllr Bracken welcomed the response when he raised the issue at the December meeting of the Borris-in-Ossory Mountmellick Municipal District in County Hall Portlaoise.
