Stradbally travelled to Ferbane for this second leg after a tough 2-1 win in the first leg Two weeks ago. The away team took control of this game from the start and scored through Derek Gorman after 20 minutes. Stradbally then missed some good chances to put the tie to bed but put themselves 2-0 up at half time with a well taken goal from Joe McEntee.
It was the same story in the 2nd half with the home side pushing forward Stradbally caught them on the break and McEntee added three more goals with one in particular curled in with the outside of his boot deserving a special mention. Derek Gorman then put the icing on the cake with the sixth after a wonderful through ball from Alan Delaney.
Best for the men in green were John Hayden,John McCarthy and of course the 4 goal hero McEntee with a brilliant performance.

Stradbally under 17’s came out on top in a hard fought encounter away to Mountmellick United on Saturday afternoon. Stradbally went ahead in the first half with Leo Lalor scoring a great header from a corner. The away team were well on top in the first half but unfortunately had a player sent off after 35 minutes.
Mounmellick took the initiative after that putting Stradbally under severe pressure but Stradbally scored a well taken breakaway goal by Adam Foley. Despite massive pressure from Moumtmellick the lads held out for a well deserved victory that keeps them in second place in the Division which would secure a league semi final play off if they can remain there. Best for Stradbally were Sam Rooney,Ben Dillon and Kevin Fennelly.

Stradbally Town A 3
Inny FC 0
Stradbally’s first team played host to North Westmeath side Inny FC in CCFL Division 1 on Sunday morning and started the brighter of the two sides on a great day for football. Some resolute defending made way for some good Stradbally attacks with Benny Lawlor finishing well after good work from Jody Dillon on 25 minutes. Stradbally were unable to double their lead before half time and went in 1-0 up at the break.
Second half started in the same fashion as the first and Stradbally doubled their lead on the 68th minute with Jody Dillon finishing well from a Lawlor through ball. Stradbally rounded off a comfortable enough victory with veteran Derek Beale pouncing on a loose ball after hesitation in the Inny defence.
Conor Buggie was immense for Stradbally today, with Liam Knowles and Justin Lalor also standing out. The win keeps Stradbally in contention for promotion as we enter the business end of the season with a Division 1 Cup tie against Mullingar Athletic at home also on the horizon as well.
