Mystery surrounds old Bundoran book from 1896

Respected Ballyshannon historian Anthony Begley has come across snippets from a book from 1896, entitled, "Bundoran and its neighbourhood" by T.C. Connolly.

A respected author himself and past President of the Donegal Historical Society Anthony is looking for further information on the author T.C. Connolly and if anyone would happen to know if a copy of the book still exists and where it might be sourced.

The second edition book was published in 1896 and states that it is “a guide and descriptive handbook to Bundoran and the surrounding district of the North West including Enniskillen, Sligo, Donegal &c. Illustrated."

Mr Connolly states of the still fledgling resort and tourism attraction:

“The writer hopes that even with its many faults and shortcomings, ‘Bundoran and its neighbourhood’ may assist in making a rather unknown but most interesting and beautiful district better known and inducing the visitor at Bundoran to “improve the shining hour” among the charming natural scenery, the scientific attractions and the many interesting memorials of bygone times in the lovely north-west.”

The book is also said to contain hints and directions to tourists, archaeological and historical notes and special notes for cyclists, anglers and on the botany, geology and zoology of the district.
