Kiltyclogher's new Dean's Lake trail welcomed

The people of Kiltyclogher and its surrounds are very happy with the recent successful development of the village's new Dean's Lake Trail and indeed they very much welcome it.

Commenting on this new recreational asset for the North Leitrim Border Village's area the tourist and visitor centre's Kiltyclogher Heritage Centre and Sean MacDiarmada Homestead remarked “the new Dean's Lake Trail is starting to look very official.
“It starts with a map at the Holiday Centre (in Kiltyclogher Community Centre) and then travels through the village taking in all the historic sites on your journey. You reach Dean's Lane which is lined with Birch with all of nature's common birdlife to be seen but plenty of gaps to see other habitats.

“If you bring binoculars, you can see our 3 winter visiting swans on Deans Lake itself and if you hang around you might be lucky to see the Deer or the Buzzards. There will be a picnic table and chairs at the trail's current end destination.
We hope to further (enhance) the trail with a phase 2 plan. There are also Bat boxes and an owl’s nest to be added. The trail changes from season to season offering the walker new plant life and animal visitors from month to month. Please feel free to ramble” Kiltyclogher Heritage Centre and Sean MacDiarmada Homestead adds in conclusion.
