Leitrim Sports Partnership promoting 'Men on the Move' activity programme

Worried about that extra weight? Thinking about getting more active? Want to improve your overall health and wellbeing?

Leitrim Sports Partnership in collaboration with Sports Council are offering a new programme for men aged 35+ over the coming weeks in the Carrick-on-Shannon area.

There are a lot of men who, once they finish playing competitive sport, just give up on taking exercise. It is so important for both physical and mental health that people in general participate in some form of sport/physical activity.  This programme gives men a chance to do just that!

An open evening is being organised, where men can come along and get information on healthy eating and sign up to an activity programme. The open evening will take place in the following venue, Carrick-on-Shannon, Aras an Chontae, Leitrim County Council offices on Thursday, 2nd March at 6pm.

The programme will include:

  • Health Checks
  • Fitness Testing
  • Nutrition workshops
  • Cardiovascular and Endurance Fitness
  • Fun Fitness Games

The cost for the entire 6-week programme is only €30 for 18 sessions.

There will be leaders and a life coach there on the night to answer any question that you may have about any of the proposed activities.

If you wish to register for the initiative, please contact Leitrim Sports Partnership on the following numbers 071 9650498  086- 0347765 or email sports@leitrimcoco.ie  or Sonia.mulryan@leitrimcoco.ie, or go to www.leitrimsports.ie and complete the expression of interest form to secure your spot on this programme.

So get out there and get active and be part of this super programme.
