The Leitrim Design House National Design, Craft and Art Awards launched

The Leitrim Design House are proud to launch The Leitrim Design House National Design, Craft & Art Awards 2023, in celebration of twenty-three years sustaining and nurturing creative Irish businesses.

These National awards will celebrate excellence in design and artisanship and are born out of the organisation’s continued sustainability as a business.  

As a reflection on this longevity, The Leitrim Design House wishes to invite makers, crafters, artists & designers from across the island of Ireland to respond to the theme of ‘reused sustainability’. 

Following an evaluation from our judging panel The Leitrim Design House Award for first prize is €2,500 for the best overall submission. The winner of this award will also be invited for a solo exhibition in 2024. A specially commended prize of €1,000 will be awarded to a runner up. 

It’s a wonderful chance to have your work viewed by highly regarded industry professionals and experts. The Leitrim Design House thanks the Local Enterprise Office, Leitrim for their kind sponsorship of these awards.

The awards are open to practicing makers, crafters, artists and designers living and working on the Island of Ireland, at any career stage who can demonstrate artistic merit and expertise in their chosen field. Applications will not be considered from students undertaking full-time study.

From 20th March 2023, applicants can register their Expression of Interest on www.leitrimdesignhouse.ie, a €10 registration fee will be applicable.  A link to the application form will be emailed to all eligible applicants within 72 hours, for any unforeseen reason if you have not received the application, please email info@leitrimdesignhouse.ie. The deadline for the final submission of applications is 6pm on Friday, June 23.

Up to ten shortlisted applicants will be notified by Friday, July 14. The finalists will be invited to showcase their work at The Leitrim Design House Design, Craft & Art Awards Exhibition event on Friday, August 11.

The Leitrim Design House is a not for profit organisation which brings together the very best of Ireland’s unique craft and design tradition.
