Buyers snapping up properties in Leitrim

Buyers snapping up properties in Leitrim

If time on the market is a metric, we are at the highest point with our property market ever.
REA Brady in Carrick-on -Shannon has revealed that the pace of sales has increased significantly this spring.

“Obviously, price is the most important factor and for the significant part we are back a 2006 price levels. But why so quick? The fact is that the supply of homes is at it’s lowest level in decades and buyers have to compete for the smaller supply that is there,” said Joe Brady.

Also REA Brady report that with their Property Alert feature every buyer gets informed of a new listing within 5 minutes of the listing going live on their website www.reabrady.ie.

Joe added “These are people who are obviously interested in buying and who want to get that “Heads up”. They all tend to act on it very quickly. The result is that there are more viewings in the first week, more bids early in the process and more often than not bidding battles.

“This is good news for the sellers. Some recent prime examples of this is 9 Summerhill (a bungalow), listed at €185,000, sold for €205,000 within 6 days. No. 20 Carrick View (a 2 bedroom Apartment) was listed for €149,900 and sold for €177,500 within just 14 days.

“A cottage in Toome, Cloone was listed at €179,900 and sold for €203,000 after 16 bids. Often the successful bidder is the a person who was second best on a previous sale. The buyers who don’t win the battle don’t just give up.
“They still have the funding and desire to buy a property.”

REA Brady have a long list of buyers who are funded and ready to buy looking for residential properties in Leitrim and Roscommon. If your thinking of selling this spring, they will be happy to receive your call 071 96 22444.
