Plaque unveiled to commemorate 70th anniversary of Castle Street Band

Packie McMorrow was a member of the Castle Street Band. His children Pat (standing) and daughter Mary Regan along with her husband Thomas and children Tomás and Iarla Regan enjoyed the celebrations marking the unveiling of the plaque.

     

Grandchildren of the late John (Thady) Rooney, Damien McCauley, Joan, Nicola and Michelle McCorry, Joseph and James Dolan, Chris Curran and Clare McCauley.

 

The late Brendan Somers, Lurganboy was a member the Castle Street Band and his wife Mary and son Tony were at the unveiling of the plaque.

Members of Paddy Gilroy’s extended family enjoy a tune from Paddy at the unveiling of the plaque commemorating the establishment of the Castle Street Band of which he was a proud member: his wife Mary, Michael Gilroy, Enda and Patricia Colleary, Ann and Lilly Banks.

Rose Anne Rooney, wife of the late John (Thady) Rooney, Carrickleitrim, Manorhamilton, who played the flute in the Castle Street Band with her children Bernadette Curran, Kathleen McCauley, Geraldine McCorry, Maura Maguire, Francis Rooney and Tereasa Dolan, at the unveiling.

The late Mick O’Connell was one of the founder members of the Castle Street Band and members of his family proudly gathered at the unveiling of the commemorative plaque on St Patrick’s Day: Charlie and Jacinta Lyons, Tony Barry, Cathal O’Connell, Majella Barry, Nuala Feely, John O’Connell, Maria and David O’Gara and Jim Feely.
