A major street auction, live music, book sale and cake sale is set to take place in Strokestown next Saturday evening, July 15, commencing at 6pm.

The event is to support the continuing operation of the Community Playground.

“We have managed despite the setbacks of Covid to clear most of our major loan taken out to build and more recently to extend the project but we also have spiralling insurance costs and need to replace some small items of equipment,” according to a spokesperson for Strokestown Community Development Association.

“We wish to acknowledge the general public in the region and the Business Community for their support for the Project.

“We also acknowledge Roscommon County Council, Coillte, Sliabh Bawn Community Fund, Department of Rural and Community Affairs for grant assistance to date.”

Items already guaranteed include top class books, jewellery, turf, timber, brand new scarves, umbrellas, vouchers including a fabulous stay at a leading Kerry hotel, plants, hampers and much more.

A draw will also take place for a major item on the evening, further details to follow.

Anyone wishing to donate an item or help out anyway call to Mary, Strokestown Community Development Association Office or phone 071 96.33759.
