Hank Wangford to play Corn Mill Theatre, Carrigallen this September

Samuel Hutt, known by the stage name Hank Wangford, is coming to The Corn Mill Theatre, Carrigallen on Sunday, September 24 at 5pm.

Hank will be joined by rising stars The Messages who consist of Belturbet lass, Fiona Maria Fitzpatrick, Donegal’s Seanan Brennan (KILA), Denise Boyle and James McNamee on fiddles and UK’s hero John Devine on uilleann pipes/keys. Also to appear, a genius of jazz on the pedal steel/dobro is the amazing Richard Nelson and Modal Citizen Record boss Marc Geagan on bass.

The English country and western songwriter will kick off his tour at Clifden Arts Festival on September 18, where he will be joined by Noel Dashwood and The Messages.                                       

Most songs Hank does will be from his "troublesome" tenth album Holey Holey and his new duo project with The Dash, 'Promises Promises' is due to be released in Ireland and the UK 1st December. 
                                  

It's a long time since Hank officially toured Ireland (he did a small tour with The Messages, and special guest Seamus O'Rourke in 2022, and has done gigs in Clifden and Ballintubbert with Glen Hansard and the Footsbarn Theatre Company) and he loves playing his songs to receptive Irish audiences. 

The New York Times said of Hank: "If you want originality, something that still has the bite and twang that drained out of so much country, the sharp cutting wit and the rawness of hard country, then there is only one man to see.  His name is Hank Wangford."
