Twenty cyclists recently completed a two-stage rally from Limerick to Tuam and then from Tuam to Dromahair.
It was an annual fundraiser in aid of cancer research and treatment at Sligo University Hospital, where some cyclists work in different parts of the hospital.
This year due to windy wet weather the going was harder than usual.
Two Garda motorcyclists guided the cyclists carefully along main roads and junctions with narrow country roads.
Participating individuals, including back-up crew, paid their own hotel accommodation costs, but food and bottled water consumed on the route was contributed by businesses in Dromahair and Sligo.
Well done to all concerned.
