A planned escalation of industrial action by members of Fórsa trade union, due to commence from midnight last night, has been deferred in order to facilitate talks at the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) on Monday (25th September).
In a communication to members issued late yesterday evening (Thursday), Fórsa national secretary Richy Carrothers said Fórsa and the Local Government Management Agency (LGMA) are to return to the WRC on Monday to engage in discussions about the current dispute over job evaluation.
He said: "The planned escalation of industrial action, namely the 24-hour email ban due to take place on Friday 22nd September and the 48-hour phone ban, due to take place on Tuesday 26th and Wednesday, 27th September, is now paused.
"However, the ongoing ban on non-statutory political representations continues," he said.
