Playground in Kiltyclogher now "a health and safety issue"

Council playground in Kiltyclogher village is not safe, says councillor

Cllr Sean McDermott asked if slight repairs can be made to the tarmacadam at the council playground in Kiltyclogher village to make it safe.
The official response to him at the Manorhamilton Municipal District meeting stated that the playground will be inspected to determine the extent of the repairs required and repairs can then be carried out.
Cathaoirleach Cllr Justin Warnock noted that he raised the issue with the council over a month ago.
"It's a disgrace to have a tennis court with holes in it" with Cllr McDermott saying it was now a "health and safety issue."

He also asked the Council to look into the possibility of tarring the section of road from Glenfarne boat quay at Lough MacNean back towards Kiltyclogher. This section of road has never been tarred" and was advised that as it is not a public road, the Council are not in a position to undertake any works on it.

Cllr McDermott said that with the Recreation and Tourism Development Strategic Plan for Glenfarne Wood in the pipeline, "now is the time to talk about this project and come up with a solution for it."

He was backed by his fellow members.
