Cllr Frank Dolan
People are living in fear due to individuals doing "donuts" outside their houses in the middle of the night.
At the latest meeting of Manorhamiton Municipal District, Cllr Frank Dolan called on the District to bring to the attention of the Joint Policing Committee (JPC), "the serious effect those doing donuts, etc. at certain locations on our roads are having on ordinary people’s lives."
He said the activity is happening between 2am and 4am and the "noise is outrageous and people are living in fear because when the noise stops, they don't know what those fellows are up to - they're afraid in their homes."
He said the residents are also fearful of ringing the gardaí because of the "aftermath to that and what could happen if they come back."
Chairperson Cllr Felim Gurn said he has also had residents contact him about the issue. "They just seem to be getting away with it at the minute," he said.
