Tractor drivers describe road as "dangerous"

Cllr Thomas Mulligan asked that strengthening works be carried out on local road No. L15714 in the Gortletteragh/Farnaght area between Moffits' Cross and Gortlettragh National School.

The official response said that this section of public road is not included in the approved current three year programme of works but can be considered for the next three year plan which will be put in front of the elected members at the end of 2024.

Cllr Mulligan said those who have driven the road in tractors describe it as "dangerous" with chairperson Cllr Enda Stenson, also supporting the motion saying that the road is uneven, "especially if you have a weight behind a tractor, it's very difficult to keep control of that tractor."

Cllr Sean McGowan also supported the motion saying the road is "extremely dangerous".

Leitrim County Council District Engineer, Darragh O'Boyle said that if additional funding becomes available next year, the works would be completed. "I understand your issues," he said.
