The much-anticipated return of Tish Dunleavy’s ‘Sweet Spirit Country Gospel singers’ will take place in c, Mohill on Friday night, 1st December 2023 from 8pm-9.45 approx.
It has been over three years since the group performed so they are very excited to be back on the road again! Like many other performing groups, Covid forced the cancellation of several events in 2020 and 2021 which disappointed the members of the group and their loyal supporters.
It was after many requests from the members and supporters that Tish decided to get the group back together again.
The show will include many genres of music and Tish knows there will be something for everyone.
The members of the group come from a wide area covering Leitrim, Cavan and Roscommon.
Sean Mahon (The Rodeo Man) has been in the music business for more years than he cares to remember. His voice is as good if not better than ever.
The ‘Sweet Spirit Country Gospel Singers’ performance on Friday 1st December is in recognition and appreciation of Sean’s years of dedication to music.
Sean will perform a number of great Country & Gospel Classics such as ‘Candlelight & Wine’, ‘Abeline’, ‘Blue eyes crying in the rain’ and many other greats.
Saidhbhe Concannon is a young up and coming singer from Ahascragh, Co. Galway and is making a name for herself in the music world. Saidhbhe will perform ‘Caledonia’ and ‘You raise me up’ and Tish’s original song ‘Christmastime’.
Pearl Kielty, an accomplished soprano from Roscommon will perform the great Bing Crosby/David Bowie classic ‘Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth’ along with the group and many other great numbers well known to everyone.
MaryAnn McBrien is well known around the Ballinamore/Coraleehan/ Corlough/Bawnboy area for her musical ability She will perform a great classic ‘Bridge Over Troubled Waters’ and many other pieces.
J.P O’Dowd, a member of the Millennium & Solstice Choirs has been a member of the Sweet Spirit Country Gospel Singers since its inception in 2010.
J.P. is an experienced performer and will be taking the lead in some pieces such as ‘Till the Storm’ and many others.
Peter Kilkenny from Fenagh is well known for his acting & singing skills and will perform ‘Lets make a memory’.
The main beneficiary from the event is Sligo Hospital Oncology Unit Trust (SHOUT) with a donation to The Brain Injury Unit Beaumont Hospital.
Tickets at the door on the night, €15.
