On Wednesday, November 22, Comhairle na nÓg Liatroma held their AGM in the Landmark Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon.
Over 80 young people from Leitrim attended the event. The event was opened by Comhairle Chairperson Brianna Faughnan along with Comhairle committee members Niamh Ryan, Eibhlinn Victorno, and Leas Cathaoirleach Paddy O’Rourke.
The members talked of the importance of Comhairle to the young people of Leitrim and the important work they had previously done.
The day was a chance for all young people in Leitrim to have their voices heard on any issues they would like brought to the attention of local councillors in Leitrim and even nationally.
The day included the world café, where young people had a chance to discuss their opinions on issues like farm safety, mental health, addiction and social media.
In the afternoon the young people attended different workshops such as dancing, drumming and obstacle courses. The young people all enjoyed their day.
Comhairle na nÓg Liatroma would like to thank the second level schools in Leitrim for their attendance and support.
