A Christmas Wish at The Glens Centre

A Christmas Wish at The Glens Centre

‘A Christmas Wish’ show is set to be on stage at The Glens Centre on December 16-17 at 3-5pm.

Featuring Jay Ryan, well-known RTE Jr. star of ‘Living with a Fairy’, the show is devised and directed by Patrick MacEneaney and promises to be an unforgettable night.

“My work with and for children was not a conscious decision. I didn’t set out to create work for children, but once I did I was hooked. It is a two-way process, children become part of the show.

“I love performing for children. Years ago, I discovered the magic of children watching and responding to a performance. They are honest in their attention and will openly accept you or ignore you.

“When I tell such stories to children I feel like there is a two-way connection between myself and the audience”, he said.

From Sligo, Jay went touring in 2022 with his theatre piece ‘ Living with a Fairy’ as part of a collaboration with The Glens Centre, Leitrim County Council and the Arts Council.

He also offers Drama and puppet-making workshops for primary school children. It aids their development of social skills, confidence building, creative thinking and free expression.

Tickets for ‘A Christmas Wish’ theatre piece are available at https://glenscentre.ticketsolve.com/ticketbooth/shows/873654103. Adult tickets are  €8, child tickets €6, and family tickets (2 adults and children) €20.
