It was with deep regret that we learned of the death on Saturday morning, December 23rd of our company director and assistant treasurer, Sean Nolan.

Chairperson of Drumshanbo Community Council, Enda McGloin paid tribute to their fellow company director.

“Sean was a founder member of Drumshanbo Community Council serving as company director and officer since the early 1990’s, his business background as production manager in Lairds for many years was invaluable.

“In many of our community endeavours Sean was to the forefront in negotiations on behalf of DCC which included projects like Laird House, New Link Road alongside the Mart and of course the Food Hub to name but a few.

“Throughout his time serving as a board member he diligently attended meetings where his wise consul was sought ensuring strong leadership and prudence during tight financial challenges faced by our group especially in the early years.

“Sean was a community man all his life giving of his spare time so generously, he was proud of our achievements on so many projects especially in the last few years where current employment levels at the Food Hub reached the numbers achieved during the Laird Foods era.

“He can take his share in this success as director of this project alongside the many other community successes that has seen Drumshanbo prosper in recent years.

“We will miss him and his generous input and work on our board however his wife Mary and his children and grand children will miss him much more, but we thank them for the work and support that Sean gave us as a community group.

“I as Chairman, alongside my fellow directors, Paschal Mooney, Bea Cullen, Joseph McManus, Noel McPartland and our management and administration team of Fergal McPartland and Geraldine Heeran extend our heartfelt sympathy to Mary and all the Nolan family at this sad time”.

Sean was predeceased by his mother Mai and his father James, his wife Bernadette, children Deirdre and Fintan, sister Barbara Reynolds and brother Paddy (Tralee), son-in-law Jerome. Sadly missed by his devoted wife Mary (Kellegher) and dear father to Paula (Padraig), Fiona (Bernie), John (Mary), Neil (Olivia), Kevin (Cabrini), Thomas (Jane), his sister Mary (Flynn), brother Seamus (USA), grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and wide circle of friends.

Sean reposed at his residence on Sunday, 24th December. Funeral Mass took place on Tuesday, 26th December, in St Patrick's Church, Drumshanbo followed by burial afterwards in the New Cemetery.

May he Rest In Peace.
