Electric vehicle charging points overlooked a Acres Lake Car Park

The absence of electric vehicle (EV) charging points in the new car park at Acres Lake, Drumshanbo, raises concerns, especially in light of Ireland's push for sustainable transportation.

Through Zero Emission Vehicles Ireland, Ireland has set a target under the Climate Action Plan 2023 to switch 30% of private car fleets to electric by 2030.

As of the end of August 2023, Ireland has over 93,000 electric vehicles on the road. In 2024, the EV market will offer over 70 battery-electric vehicle models, providing diverse options for environmentally and economically conscious consumers.
