The famous Rainbow Ballroom of Romance in Glenfarne.
Cllr Sean McDermott asked if there is a timeframe for works to be carried out on the N16 National Primary Road on the Manorhamilton side of the Rainbow Ballroom in Glenfarne where cracks along the roadside are increasing in size.
A report by the Roads office said that they are in discussions with the TII to progress pavement rehabilitation works on the N16 near Glenfarne. It is hoped that the repairs required beside the Rainbow will be completed in 2024.
Cllr McDermott said that the cracks "have gotten worse since Christmas" and "the danger is there is a big drop with a drain and with big heavy lorries going up and down, I would worry that the road will crack and a lorry will topple into the field."
Eric Gilroy, engineer at Leitrim County Council said Road Design is progressing a PARR scheme "for pavement strengthening for that location and both sides of it."
