Vincent Woods, poet and broadcaster.
Leitrim poet and broadcaster, Vincent Woods, will feature on RTÉ lyric fm’s Where Life Sounds Greener segments, which introduces listeners to some extraordinary people who are driven by their love of nature.
Where Life Sounds Greener, which launches today, Thursday, February 1st, consists of greetings from creators across the country, who share their connection with the natural world and impart a piece of music that inspires this connection to listeners. The segments will be heard throughout the day on all programmes on lyric fm and will run for one week.
Vincent, from Tarmon near Drumkeerin, and his late wife Monica Frawley, created the most bewitching garden right in the middle of Dublin City.
The sounds of the tall grasses waving in the summer breeze, the birds, bees, and heady scents all provide solace and inspiration for Vincent and connects him with Monica and other absent friends.
Where Life Sounds Greener coincides with St. Brigid’s Day which marks the first day of spring. Each contributor values the power of music and the arts to motivate, encourage and inspire connection with the natural world at a time when we need it most.
Other contributors include Cathy Davey who sings songs to her rescued horses and pigs, photographer Tina Claffey who captures minute bog universes through her lens, and Sam Lee who sings with the nightingales.
Where Life Sounds Greener launches today, Thursday, February 1st on RTÉ lyric fm with stories and music of love for the planet programmed all day throughout the week.
