Former Kildare FF TD Frank O'Rourke who is originally from Leitrim.
Former Fianna Fáil TD and Leitrim native Frank O’Rourke has been appointed campaign manager for Barry Cowen’s European Election campaign in the Midlands-North-West constituency, a five-seat constituency with the election to be held on June 7 next.
“I was honoured to be asked to be Barry Cowen’s campaign manager in the forthcoming EU elections to be held in June,” stated O’Rourke.
“I have been a campaign manager in the past so I am aware of the effort that is required having started my campaigning in my native Leitrim.
“As a former TD for Kildare I am aware of the many issues that can affect our people and our constituency. The EU has become an important influencer in all our lives, and it is important that we have someone of the strength and calibre of Barry Cowen in the EU looking after our interests.
“Fianna Fáil has a strong, ambitious and balanced team in Barry Cowen, Lisa Chambers and Niall Blaney. All three are determined to fight for Ireland in Europe and I am looking forward to managing Barry’s campaign between now and June. I know the respect that Barry Cowen right across the this vast constituency, including Leitrim, as I canvassed with him prior to the convention.
“We will work as hard as we can to ensure Fianna Fáil wins back a seat in the Midlands-North-West and more importantly that we deliver on the issues that are important for the people, which Barry Cowen is totally committed to,” concluded former TD Frank O’Rourke.
