Leitrim graduate has won the award for best Editor at the prestigious Royal Television Society (RTS) Ireland Student Awards 2024.
The ceremony took place at RTE on February 28 to honour the exceptional work of all nominees.
Caoimhe Gallagher Lawson's recognition went beyond her achievement in winning the award for best editing. She was also acknowledged as a co-winner of the trophy for Best Film Drama. This additional acknowledgement speaks to her significant role in the success of "With Love from Aidan," highlighting her contribution to the project's overall accomplishment.
Caoimhe said: "I am delighted by this incredible recognition at the Royal Television Society Student Awards. These awards come as a result of the collaborative effort that goes into creating meaningful and impactful films.

This award was given for her work on the film, "With Love from Aidan," directed by Reuben Harvey and produced by Jack Leach, which showcased her talent as an editor. This project formed part of her final year studies for a BA Hons degree in Film & TV Production at the National Film School in the Institute for Art, Design and Technology in Dun Laoghaire (IADT), where she graduated with First Class Honours. Caoimhe demonstrated remarkable skill and artistry as an Editor, contributing significantly to the film's success.
"With Love from Aidan" won several awards at the ceremony, including Best Film Drama (ReubenG Harvey, Jack Leach, Eamon MacMahon & Caoimhe Gallagher Lawson); Best Production Design (Ciara Kelly), and Best Camerawork (Eamon MacMahon) & Best Editing (Caoimhe Gallagher Lawson).
Caoimhe, who comes from Creevelea near Drumkeeran, where her parents, Johnnie Lawson and Bláithín Gallagher, live, is the granddaughter of the late Anna and Pat Gallagher (MRCVS), from Mohill.
These achievements complement an already illustrious career marked by several awards, underscoring Caoimhe's unwavering commitment and talent in the field of filmmaking. With her sights firmly set on a career in the arts, she emerges as a promising force poised to leave an indelible mark on the industry, fuelled by her passion and creative vision.
