First Fridays is a brand new jam-packed programme of late-night music, comedy, dance and public art on the First Friday of every month in Longford Town.
This exciting new venture will run from April to October and is brought to you by Backstage Theatre in partnership with Longford County Council, with funding support from the Arts Council and Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.
First Fridays is about bringing people into our town to enjoy a ‘no hassle’ night of enjoyment and entertainment in pubs and venues in Longford Town.
Declan Nerney is set to be on stage this Friday, followed by Join Nerney and super live band with special guests John McNicholl and John Hogan for a nostalgic night of music, song and laughter.
Emily Doyle is also performing a free concert at 9.30pm. She is a 23-year-old singer/songwriter who writes acoustic/indie songs with hints of pop.
The joint creative endeavour of Siofra Jordan, Conor Lane, and Shane Kennedy, Omen The Gaelic Corner (Hughie Doyles), is expected to perform at 9.30pm.
Brian Kiernan with Aidan Gray and the folk-songwriter Edward J. Valentines are closing the night with unforgettable songs from Longford.
