Karina Charles Lynch announces candidacy for Independent Ireland in Leitrim LEA

Karina Charles Lynch, a passionate advocate for community engagement and practical solutions, announces her candidacy for the Ballinamore Local Electoral Area (LEA) with Independent Ireland.

With a background in journalism, community activism, and a deep commitment to the well-being of Irish families, Karina aims to bring a fresh perspective and effective leadership to the Leitrim Co. Council.

Karina brings a wealth of experience and a strong dedication to her community. With an honours degree in History from Trinity College Dublin and a background in broadcast journalism, Karina has been actively involved in following and reporting on local, national, and international issues.

Her decision to join Independent Ireland reflects her belief in the need for change and a more responsive government.

"Karina's decision to join Independent Ireland stems from a deep-seated desire to let the present government, and in many cases the opposition, know that change is needed," remarked Michael Collins, Party Leader of Independent Ireland.

"Her commitment to listening to the concerns of ordinary people and her practical problem-solving approach will make her an invaluable asset to the Ballinamore LEA," he added.

With a focus on addressing the challenges facing ordinary families, caregivers, farmers, and the environment, Karina emphasises the importance of community engagement and finding practical solutions to pressing issues.

"I want to focus on the challenges facing ordinary people with young families, those minding and caring for our ageing population and our young people, protecting our farmers as the backbone of our society, as the ones who feed us whilst not forgetting the importance of our environment with a common sense approach," said Karina.

Karina's deep commitment to community empowerment and women's advocacy is evident in her co-founding of The Hen's Shed women's group in her hometown of Belturbet, Co. Cavan.

"I place a huge amount of value in family, neighbours, community, care, social justice, our traditions, heritage, and our language," emphasised Karina.

"I am deeply concerned by many of the recent and upcoming policies being brought forward by this Government, worryingly often with the support of the so-called opposition, all who seem to be completely out of step with the ordinary Irish person.

"Their mismanagement of the immigration crisis and their failure to listen to the voices of concerned citizens on the ground shows how truly out of touch they are with ordinary people. Instead of listening to people, they have labelled them, and that is grossly unfair and undemocratic,"

Michael Fitzmaurice TD commended Karina's dedication to addressing pressing issues such as immigration, poverty, and homelessness.

"Karina Charles Lynch's commitment to advocating for practical solutions to the pressing issues facing our communities is commendable. Her focus on addressing poverty, homelessness, and the concerns of ordinary Irish people resonates deeply with the values of Independent Ireland," he said.
