New lift and footpath for Dromod station... but not until 2028

Much longed for new lift and footpath are coming to Dromod station however construction won't start for another four years.

Carrick-on-Shannon municipal district members were told this week that a much longed for new lift and footpath are coming to Dromod station however construction won't start for another four years.
Cllr Sean McGowan said a response from Iarnród Éireann confirmed that it is seeking planning permission for a lift and new footpath at Dromod this year however works won't commence until 2028.
Cllr McGowan has been calling for the installation of the new footbridge and passenger lift at the station for a number of years now.
“I was disappointed that work won't start until 2028,” he said.
He continued that members are writing back to Iarnród Éireann to get work started next year.
