Boyle Arts Festival 2024 announces Eddi Reader as another headline artist and will be joined by the Alan Kelly Gang for what promises to be an unforgettable concert in St. Joseph’s Hall on Saturday, July 27.
Scotland’s internationally acclaimed and mesmerising songstress, Eddi Reader, of Fairground Attraction fame, teams up with Ireland’s own piano accordion maestro, Alan Kelly, and his gang of acclaimed musicians, featuring Steph Geremia on flute and vocals, John Douglas (Trashcan Sinatras) and Shane McGowan (Sean Keane Band) on guitars, and Jim Higgins (Christy Moore, The Stunning) on percussion.
Brimming with powerful instrumentals, alluring songs and buoyant harmonies, this is a wonderful union of Scottish and Irish traditions from true masters.
Alan joined Eddi’s band in 2003 and has toured and recorded with her for the past twenty years, forging an enduring musical comradery.
Mixing the Alan Kelly Gang’s innovative perspective to the Celtic repertoire with Eddi Readers' thrilling and affecting performance, this show has been praised for leaving audiences spellbound.
