Arachas acquires Gilmartin Insurances in Leitrim

Arachas, the country’s largest nationwide insurance broker, has announced the acquisition of Gilmartin Insurances, a general insurance business operating out of Manorhamilton, Co Leitrim, for an undisclosed sum.

This is an important strategic investment for Arachas in the North West region and comes on the back of several acquisitions around the country, including Tom Fogarty Insurances in Tipperary last month. Arachas also previously acquired businesses with offices in Mayo, Sligo and Donegal.

Established in the early 1960’s, Gilmartin Insurances serves the local market in the surrounding areas of North and South Leitrim, West Cavan, South Donegal and East Sligo.

A well-respected and trusted independent insurance broker for over 60 years, Gilmartin specialises in home insurance, vehicle insurance, business and farm insurance and caters for the personal and business market.

Owner John Gilmartin will stay on with the business to ensure that all customers will have a smooth transfer as well as access to a great range of insurance products. The existing staff will join the Arachas team following the transaction.

Arachas provides high quality and cost-effective insurance products for businesses and consumers with motor and home insurance around the country and this acquisition will increase the availability of these products to the people of Leitrim, Sligo and beyond.
