Classic Cinema at The Dock, Carrick-on-Shannon, features Driving Madeline on May 8 at 11.30am.
Directed by Christian Carion, the film features a 92-year-old Madeline who leaves a small suburb to join a nursing home on the other side of Paris, where her doctors and family have decided she must live.
Charles, a taxi driver, comes to pick her up and is in no hurry to reach her. She asks him to go through the capital, which has counted in her life.
Along the way, Madeleine asks Charles to visit places in Paris that hold her memories. Gradually, the two learn about each other’s lives.
