Approval has been granted for three special education rooms alongside an additional special educational needs room.
A major extension to St Clare's National School in Manorhamilton has received the go ahead today, Friday, May 3rd from the Minister for Education, Norma Foley TD.
Sligo Leitrim TD Frank Feighan has warmly welcomed the announcement under the additional accommodation scheme.
The extension to the school comprises three special education rooms alongside an additional special educational needs room.
This is a significant investment in the future of St Clare’s positioning it to be able to deal with the enrolment of children with additional special educational needs.
“This is great news for the School Principal, the Board of Management alongside the pupils and their parents and I want to congratulate the team involved in the application”, stated Deputy Feighan.
“The exact funding amount will be held back to allow a competitive tendering process that I hope can get underway as soon as plans are completed later this year.
“At a political level I want to thank Minister Foley for her positive response to my representations to ensure this project received this allocation of funding”, concluded Deputy Feighan.
