Met Éireann predicts a cloudy with rain and drizzle over the May Bank Holiday weekend

It's likely to become drier generally with a mix of clouds and some warm sunshine

Met Éireann predicts a cloudy with rain and drizzle over the May Bank Holiday weekend

SATURDAY: Cloudy and mostly dry with light winds. Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees, mildest where any sunny spells develop.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Rain and drizzle will still affect parts of the east and north, while staying drier elsewhere. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 10 degrees, coolest under clearer skies across the southwest of Munster.

SUNDAY: There's likely to be a general improvement, with sunshine becoming slightly more prevalent. There'll still be a scattering of showers, too, with a few heavier ones possible in the east. There's also still a small chance of more persistent rain for a time in parts of the south and east. Highest temperatures of 12 to 17 degrees, all sunshine dependent with mostly light variable breezes.

MONDAY: A bright day overall with some sunny spells, the best of these likely further to the south and west. There'll be a lot of dry weather, though there'll be a scattering of showers, too, with a few heavier ones possible. Highest temperatures of 13 to 18 degrees, in a light to moderate northerly breeze, with best values further south.

FURTHER OUTLOOK: High pressure is signalled to bring warmer and more settled conditions nationwide.
