Sean Wynne, Independent candidate, Ballinamore LEA.
Sean Wynne, speaking to the Leitrim Observer, has announced that he will be running in the Ballinamore Electoral Area in the local elections as an independent candidate.
The Drumshanbo man said he would also like to pay tribute to Gerry Dolan and his family as a fellow independent on his retirement from Leitrim County Council.
“His legacy, in my view, is his enormous contribution to the fight to stop the fracking in Leitrim and the need for controls on the planting of Sitka Spruce in our county,” Sean said.
He went on to say that unfortunately he will be unable to meet all the voters in the electoral area before election day and he thanks those voters in advance who will consider voting for him.
He believes that he offers experience, understanding and is approachable in relation to issues that will be confronting the voters, their families and their communities over the coming five years.
All national politics has local consequences and implications on families in the Ballinamore local electoral area which are challenging.
He believes we must again reclaim in 2024: Freedom of thought, Freedom of bodily autonomy, Freedom to privacy, Freedom from woke, Freedom to farm, Freedom to use cash, and Freedom to be different.
“We need to control our borders once again and deal with the 83% of foreigners arriving with no passports,” he said.
He said he would be a voice on the council against climate change misrepresentations which seek to achieve coercive control over the Irish population by destroying our agricultural sector through the Nature Restoration Law which, if implemented, will result in 20 per cent of our land will be decommissioned by 2030 in the first phase.
“This will deprive our people of food and fuel sovereignty in addition to the political sovereignty already being attacked relentlessly,” Sean said.
Again he believes one-off housing has to be resolved and is a major issue on the door steps.
“The issue is now almost impossible and no progress over the last five years has been achieved. We need a solution which is simple for everyone and affordable and a requirement to have your tank emptied every two years and a certificate sent to the council that is sufficient to obtain planning permission and should be sufficient to meet national requirements,” he said.
On public banking, he said, “We need a public banking system in Ireland just like they have in Germany for 200 years. On a twenty year loan of €250,000 there is €90,000 of a difference in Ireland and Germany in the repayments. Why?” he asked.
On forestry, he said, “Our County Development plan needs to acknowledge that over 20% of Leitrim is now under forestry, mostly with Sitka Spruce, which is slowly destroying our rural communities and our natural environment.”
He concluded his in interview to the Leitrim Observer by stating his track record of experience and achievement in community based activities throughout Leitrim over the years.
