Cllr Frank Dolan said that with the works on the N16 in Sligo are nearing completion, he proposed that both councils come together in an effort to complete the Greenway/cycleway from both sides right down to Glenfar Waterfall.

He said this "would add an awful lot to the tourist potential of the area."

A report by the Roads office said this can be discussed with the TII to see if it is feasible to provide a greenway at that location.

Cllr Dolan continued that "on the Leitrim side, we have a Greenway and now there is one coming on the Sligo side and I'm proposing those two would be joined up and brought down to the waterfall and there would be a Greenway from Manorhamilton to the waterfall which would be a huge advantage to tourism in the area."

Cllr Sean McDermott said that Glencar Waterfall is "our biggest tourism asset we have so to have more people going to it from Manorhamilton and Sligo, it would be tremendous."

Cllr Felim Gurn agreed saying the "scenery on that road is beautiful and it also makes it safe for people."
