Why have I decided to run for Local Elections?
Everyone out there is promising the sun, moon and stars, I just want to work tirelessly on what is possible. Raised in a farming family in Leitrim, I have a strong background in community service, arts, and project management, My upbringing gave me a deep sense of responsibility towards our community and sustainability. I want to transfer my skills from community service and activism to work at local government.
As your representative, I, Bláithín Gallagher, will dedicate my time to bringing positive change and advocate for our community's well-being. I understand the unique challenges and opportunities facing our towns and villages in rural Ireland. I am committed to bringing practical solutions to the issues that matter most.

I'm not just another candidate; I, Bláithín Gallagher, am a voice for real, meaningful change. With integrity and honesty as my guiding principles, I promise to consult with residents and tackle pressing issues head-on. From championing accessible and efficient services to promoting sustainable practices in all we do, I'll advocate for initiatives that benefit everyone. Campaign Focus: What's Lacking and What I'll be campaigning for?
I'm committed to making local government more consultative and responsive, prioritising community needs, connectivity and conservation. Pressing issues that I will strive for immediately:
Expansion of childcare services particularly for the 0 to 1 age group;
Faster roll out of broadband to help in the revitalisation of our villages and towns;
Focus on affordable accommodation, improve the upkeep of public housing, address neglected private estates and advocate for their maintenance
Improve public transport with better connections and a night time services to support a night time economy.
I want to promote fair and inclusive communities, where everyone's voice is heard and valued. I will work tirelessly to make our community an even better place to live, work, and thrive. Vote No 1, Bláíthín Gallagher, to give me a chance to deliver what is possible.
