Traffic speeding in Dromahair
Cllr Padraig Fallon asked that the issue of traffic calming be examined in Dromahair, that visible signage reminding motorists of limits is in place on all roads into the village saying the "issue is ongoing now for years."
A report by the Roads office said that signage will be reviewed for the speed limits on approach to Dromahair, speed surveys will be carried out to determine if traffic calming measures are justified in the town.
Cllr Fallon agreed that a speed survey needs to be carried out and has reports that traffic on approach roads into the village is travelling "at speed".
Cllr Mary Bohan seconded the motion adding that it's "motorists' responsibility and even though the ramps in Drumkeeran have been extremely helpful, you still see speeding and it's happening in every town and village."
Cllr Felim Gurn noted that the "speed issue is coming up on the doorsteps in a lot of our towns and villages and it's totally out of hand."
