Cllr Enda Stenson has again decided not to erect election posters in the run-up to the local elections on June 7.
The Independent councillor in the Carrick-on-Shannon Local Electoral Area, who also didn't erect posters in the last election in 2019, gave his reasons for not doing so on this occasion.
“A number of people have asked me why I haven't put up any posters for this election.
“We in the Carrick-on-Shannon Municipal District received a request from the local tidy towns group a number of months ago not to erect posters and I proposed that at the meeting and it was adopted,” he said.
“It was agreed and accepted that newcomers would erect posters for facial recognition to the electorate,” he said.
He said his leaflet with his image will be distributed to every house in the Carrick-on-Shannon district before the election and he is satisfied with that.
Cllr Stenson said that was his position about posters from the start and he is the only candidate in the Carrick-on-Shannon LEA not to erect posters.
Other candidates in the county have also decided not to put up posters in their particular areas.
