In their tribute, St Patrick’s Dromahair wrote: “The community of Dromahair & St Patricks GAA received devastating news last week with the passing of Conor Torsney, member of our adult squad, after a short illness. Conor was a complete gentleman and an example role model to how any young person should conduct themselves.
“Conor was a past pupil of St. Josephs NS, Coola VS & had just finished his second year of an Engineering degree in University College Galway and undoubtedly had a bright professional future ahead of him.
“Conor has played with the club at all grade levels and over the past number of years, Conor was an ever present member of the coaching group for the summer Cul Camps and would no doubt have continued coaching our younger generation in the future. Conor was loved by all the kids participating within the Cul Camps each year & will be fondly remembered by everyone who knew him.
“Our heartfelt sympathies go to Conor’s parents Kevin & Clodagh and the extended Torsney & McGowan family during this devastating time. RIP Conor.”
The Leitrim Observer wish to offer our deepest sympathy to the Torsney family on their great loss.
